Tn a peep-proof garden, surrounded by a twenty-feet fence, the i’iwt conference of the National Sun and Air Society was held at Finchlby, the members ranging from ' elderly men to a. girl aged four. They included Nonconformist clergymen, solicitors, doctors and other professional men. and one Japanese, also a minority of women. The Chairman, Mr Hugh Shayler, in his address, said: “Wi- are not freaks! We advocate the perfect equality of the sexes as legards both parties and races. Free access to the sun and the air confers enormous benefits physically and mentally.” Later, nude men and women wandered in lhe garden and in a house. They took tea and entered into organised games and physical exercises.
