Buster Crabbe, worlds champion swimmer, chosen as “The Lion Man,” in a contest which ems braced nearly every athlete of note s in America, makes his debut in “King of the Jungle,” one of the pictures* to be shown. Dark-eyed Francis Dee plays opposite him. The Lion Man, a youth raised in a jungle among lions, is captured and taken to the 5 United States to use his understanding of lions as a headliner in a cir- ° cus. His romance with Miss Dee, a - school teacher who sympathises with him, runs throughout the picture. The I climax is a circus fire when the animals break into the street of a large . city, destroying and terrorising the j inhabitants. George O’Brien, in “Smoked Light- . ning” is teamed with the British . comic, Frank Atkinson. Taken from j Zane Grey’s “Canyon Walls,” this ; tale of the cattle country is one of the 3 most exciting. Nell O’Day and Betsy - King Ross head the supporting cast. ■ The box plan is at Kilgour’s Ware- ’ house, and there is no extra charge for booking. ' SURF CLUB’S DANCE The weekly Surf Club’s Old Time Dance will be held in the Blaketown Hall to-night. Two good novelties will be run off. Go where the crowds go. Dancing 8.30. Williams’ orchestra.
