RELIC FOR CANADA

I STONE FIGURE OF ANGEL. ' A stone figure of an angel is to be sent from the Houses- of Parliament (London) to* a little church which is being built in Ontaria, Canada. The figure has been removed in the course of reconstruction work on St, Stephen’s and presented through the courtesy of Mr. Ormsby-Gore, First Commissioner of Works. It will bo placed, together with stonework from St. Paul’s Cathedral l and York Minster, on a wall of the 1 clinch of St, Francis of Assisi, now , being erected, under the Church of En»iand Mission, at Mindemoya, Manitoulin Island. The angel will bear the following inscription:— This figure formed a part ot the exterior decoration of the Palace of Wes - minster in London (the British Houses of Parliament), and was presented by His Majesty’s Government during the restoration in 1934 to the Hon. G. Howard Ferguson, High Commiso loner for Canada, as a. gift to the Chinch of St. Francis of Assisi at Mindemoya.
