£40 AN INTERVIEW
TO HELP UNTOUCHABLES. CALCUTTA, July 21. Mr. Gandhi has antagonised the Press of Bengal, including even the Nationalist papers, by demanding donations to his fund for Untouchabales from journalists before he will grant them interviews. I Some newspapers threaten to retali-1 ate by boycotting his speeches. A few papers, hoWeVer, have been paying nearly £4O for a two minutes’ interview. The car from which Mr. Gandhi spoke at a women’s open-air meeting to-night Wad half buried under' a shower of currency notes, gold and silver, and precious stones in response to an apeal for money for the Untouchables.
