Whiteman left by the Marama for New Zealand, which he is visiting at the request of the Dominion Government to consult it regarding the production of local motor spirit. Mr Whiteman is the inventor of a fuel-blending process. based on the mixture of vegetable alcohol with mineral spirit. WELLINGTON, August 31. Dr. Marsden, Secretary to the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, said, to-night, that some correspondence had passed between the New Zealand Governipent and Mr Whiteman, but the latter is coming to New Zealand on his own volition.
