ALLEGED FRAUD
SWEEPSTAKES WIN CLAIM. [PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, August 29. “Congratulations, Irish Sweep," was a cable message which George Paul Zackey. salesman, aged 4G, is alleged to have told his landlord he had 'received from Ireland. The landlord said he was given to understand that Zackey had drawn a third prize of £lO,OOO and on the strength of this he lent the other various sums of money totalling £95. The sequel was the appearance in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court, today, of Zackey, who was charged with obtaining money from Davih Lynn Thompson, by falsely representing he was the holder of a winning ticket in a sweepstake. Accused pleaded not guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
