SYDNEY, August 12.
Maintaining remarkable consistency, Joe Davis, English champion billiardist, defeated Walter Lindrum, in an international match, last night, the scores being: Davis 22,269 (including breaks of 520 and 365); Lindrum 21,691 (including breaks of 409, 316, 525 and 398).
The pair begin a second match at Melbourne to-morrow, and a third game at Sydney on September 10.
