BOXING

DAL COSTA V. WRIGHT. [per press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, August 11. The Australian had an impenetrable guard and he had every punch in a boxer’s repertory. He had also very nimble feet, and perfect ringcraft. "Wright was sadly battered, and when the fight ended, his right eye was rapidly closing. In another professional bout, P. Hawes (Christchurch) knocked out C. Brosnahan (Ashburton) at the beginning of the third round. HaWes was too clever and too strong for his opponent. ' C. PURDY WINS. SYDNEY, August 13.
