MEETINGS

LOYAL GREYMOUTH LODGE. There was an excellent attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting ot the Loyal Greymou,th Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., last evening, including representatives of North Island lodges. P.D.G.M. Bro. F. Congreve presided, in the absence of N.G. Bro. H. Lindbom. F.S. Bro. Laing extended a welcome to P.D.G.M. Bro. Elcock of the Loyal Marton Lodge and Bro. Handscomb of the Loyal Ngatea Lodge, both brethren suitably responding. Three candidates were initiated into the Order with customary ceremonial, the singing of the Ode lending an added impressiveness to the ritual. . The following officers were installed for the ensuing term by P.D.G.M. Bro. Congreve, assisted by P.G. Bro. W. Green as conductor: —N.G., Bro. V. D. Stevens; V.G., Bro. W. Larcomb; E. Bro. J. 11. Brailsford; G., Bro. Jas. Allan; W., Bro. Geo. Long. The following social committee was elected:—Bros. G. Anderson, R. Jamiesoii, F. Congreve, W. Green and the officers ot the Lodge. Subsequent to the meeting a social hour was spent, the toasts honoured being: “The King.’ “The Newly installed Officejrsi” proposed by Bro. Congreve and replied to by the officers;- “The Manchester Unity,” I. proposed by P.G. Bro. R. Seddon and responded to by Deputy D.G.M. Bro. W. A. Clark; “Newly Initiated Brethren,’ proposed by P.G. Bro. J. Robertson and replied to by Bros. Clark, Musson and Fairhall; Visiting Brethren,” proposed by F. S. Bro. J. Laing and responded to by Bros. Elcock and Handscomb; “The Loyal Greymouth Juvenile Lodge,” proposed by P.G. Bro. L. S. Green and responded to by the President, P.G. Bro. J. Robertson. Community singing, instrumental and vocal items contributed to the success of the function.
