CAR OVER CLIFF
THREE PEOPLE KILLED. [BY CABLE: —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, May 16. A motor car fell over a cliff in the vicinity of Scarborough, on the South Coast, to-day. Three were killed, namely, David Todd, aged 63; Mrs Ethel Allen, aged 50; and Mrs Margaret Lowden, aged 42. Those injured were Mrs David Todd, aged 55; and her daughter-in-law, Mrs Jean Todd. A girl and a boy leapt from the car before it went over the precipice. They were unhurt. LATER— The car swerved across the road, crashed through a protective fence, and plunged three hundred feet down an almost vertical cliff. Mrs Jean Todd, twenty-six, is not expected to recover. Mrs Mary Todd, wife of David Todd, had a remarkable escape. As the car began to fall it turned in the air, and she was thrown to a ledge at the extreme edge of the cliff. It is thought that the steering gear of uie car locked.
