Favourites foi* the title include Miss Pamela Barton, aged 17, who has just left school, and is competing for the first time. LATER. In the semi-finals, Miss Barton defeated Miss Collett 2/1. Miss Holm defeated Miss Pentony 4/3. Miss Barton’s victims in chronological order before the semi-final were: Miss Powell Williams 2/1, Miss Gundburgh 2/1, Miss Barron 8/6, Diana Plumpton 3/2. Mrs Holm’s victims were: Miss Kay 6/5, Miss Pyman 3/2, Mrs Greenlees one up, Miss Wade at the 20th. GREYMOUTH LADIES The annual match for the Coronation Cup and Aotearoa Cup played for by all the members of Ladies’ Clubs throughout New Zealand, is due to be played next week. The Hokitika Ladies’ Club has invited the Greymouth ladies to play for these cups on the Hokitika links next Thursday, May 24. This invitation has been accepted by the Greymouth Club and all ladies desiring to play in Hokitika are requested to ’phone No. 269 early.
