OAMARU, May 12. Beautiful weather favoured' the Oamaru Trotting Club for its winter meeting. The track was in perfect order and there was a. large attendance. many coming long distances to see the big match race. Leading all the way, Harold Logan • won the Invitation Match Race by a length and a-half from Red Shadow. Walla Walla was two lengths further , back, only half a head in front of Roi I’Or. Harold Logan was a strong favourite, but Roi I’Or was preferred to Walla Walla and Red Shadow. Harold Logan was given a great reception after his decisive victory. He paced the mile and a-quarter in 2.43 1-5, and gave a faultless, exhibition, jumping out from the start to take the lead', which he never looked like losing. Master Roy, fourth favourite, beat Raydus, eighth choice, and Manoeuvre, seventh choice, in the Prlesident’s Handicap. The favourites, Waress j and Peter Locanda, were unplaced, although Peter Locanda finished fourth. Innovation Handicap, one mile and a-half.—2/2 Norma Bingen, Docherty’s ban. Hinds, owner of Harold Logan, has agreed to, take his champion to Australia provided sufficient inducement is offered.
