<>■ f MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEET ( i A meeting of the Management Com- " mittee of the West Coast Rugby | Union was held, last evening, there { being present Messrs Guy, T. Mclntosh, T. P. Ryan, J. Kyle, W. Williams, F. W. Baillie, F. H. Eggleton and the Secretary, J. W. Bruce. In the absence of the President, Mr. A. A. Adams, from whom an apology was received, , Mr. Guy was voted to the chair. The New Zealand Union wrote ask- . ing: (1) Whether the broadcasting j of matches is permitted, and, if so, the ( amount received for this right. (2) The effect of broadcasting on the Union’s finances. (3) Union's general opinion < on the broadcasting of matches. —It was decided to advise the Union what had been done in the matter. ' The Inangahua Sub-Union applied for affiliation with the West Coast Union. It was stated that the SubUnion had applied to the Buller Union for a clearance. 1 The Secretary said he had been ad- ■ Vised by the Buller Union that the j clearance had been granted. The Sub-Union’s request was granted, on the motion of Messrs Ryan and Kyle. Nine applications for re-admission to the code were received, and it was j decided to forward them to the New Zealand Union with a recommenda- ] tion for approval. The Canterbury Union wrote, en- : closing applications from J. Masters < and P. A. Hart for re-instatement, i asking that the Coast Union forward | the applications with its recommendation to the New Zealand Union. — ' It was decided to send on the applica- , tions- without comment. ( Messrs Ryan, Bruce, Eggleton and Kvle were appointed a Postponement i Committee, with power to suspend the | permit to broadcast matches, if the weather is considered unfavourable. ' Messrs Mclntosh and Williams j were appointed a Referees’ Appointment Committee. r Further nominations were received j
from: United (fourth gra'de team), Technical School (third and fourth grades). It was resolved that the Junior competition be played over three rounds, and the third and fourth grades, over 4 rounds each. Prices of admission were fixed, as last year, at: Gents 1/-, ladies 6d, seating accommodation free. SATURDAY’S FIXTURES The following fixtures were arranged for Saturday next: — Senior: Stars v Kumara, at Kumara 3 p.m. (D. Mackay); Cobden v. Blaketown, Rugby Park No. 1, 3 p.m. (W. McLaughlin); United a bye. Junior: Stars v. United, Park No. 1, 1.30 (Mr. Flannaghan), Cobden B v. Celtic, Park, No. 2, 3 p.m. (F. J. Tempero); Cobden Av. Blaketown, at Cobden, 1.30 (A. Jamieson). Third Grade: Kumara v. United, at Kumara, at 1.45 (D. Mackay); Blaketown v. Technical, at Tech. 3 p.m. (M. B. Charteris). Fourth Grade. Blaketown v. Stars, Park No. 2, 1.30 (H. Spencer); Technical v. United, at Tech. 1 p.m. (E. Goodall). DRAW COMPETITIONS The following draw for the four competitions was approved by the Union: Senior: Stai’ v. Cobden, United v.
