In the Legislative Assembly, Sir Harry Haig, Home member, announced that the Government would raise no o

bstacles to a meeting of the Congress Committee, or of Congress itself, for ratifying Mr. Gandhi’s new policy. He added that if, as a result, the civil disobedience movement was called off, the Government would review its policy in regard to Congress organisations, and the release of political prisoners would be expedited.
