BUDGET SPEECHES

HOMELAND BROADCAST.

[BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.]

Received April 16, Noon.) RUGBY, April 14

Mr. Neville Chamberlain, who will, on Tuesday evening, deliver his budget speech to the House of Commons, will later broadcast an explanatory statement of its contents, in the national programme. This marks a new and interesting departure in parctice. Later in the week, while the budget debate is continuing in the House, short talks, probably of a critical character, will be given on the subject by the leaders of the Opposition parties. Major Attlee (Labour) and Sir Herbert Samuel (Liberal) will reply on behalf of the Government to these critics, and will be broadcast at the end of the week.
