SOLICITOR IMPRISONED. [PRESS 'assn. —COPYRIGHT.] APIA, February 9. I. F. Kronfeld, a solicitor, was charged with theft, forgery, and uttering. He was convicted on seven charges. He was sentenced as follows: For the theft of £ 200, two years’ imprisonment; for theft of £49/15/6, six months; for theft of £3O, six months; and for forgery, two years. For uttering he was convicted and discharged. The sentences are to be concurrent. ITALIAN LOAN SUCCESS ROME, February 11. The conversion loan has closed. It is believed that only one half of one per cent, was not converted.
CZECH SLOVAKIAN CURRENCY. PRAGUE, February 11. The Government has decided to depreciate the crown, probably by 15 to 25 per cent. The State must help the exporters to compete with the depreciated pound and dollar. COMPULSORY CAMPS. ' • BERLIN, February IL All students leaving school at Easter, and planning to join a University, must serve in a labour camp for four months, followed by six weeks in the Storm Troop§’ camp. A similar order is expected concerning girls. Boys enter the Hitler Youth at fourteen, and automatically become Storm Troopers at eighteen. PRINCE OF WALES. LONDON, February 11. It is authoritatively stated there is no truth in the suggestion that the Prince of Wales will be visiting the United States and Canada in the summer.
