HYDRO STATION TRAGEDY
TEN MEN DROWNED. [BY CABLE—PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] (Received January 6, 11 a.m.) LONDON, January 5. A torrent of water released from a burst mountain main between two lakes struck the roof of a hydroelectric station, which supplies Calmar (France). The roof collapsed, drowning ten of the occupants including the supervisor, whose aged mother had just arrived to see him after a long separation. She was rescued.
