A SIX-HOUR KISS ?
-— ■■- HARLEM COMPETITION In Harlenl, the negro quarter of New York, Mr. Ed. Small, proprietor of the dance hall known as Small’s Paradise, is consumed with a burning ambition (says the Daily Herald). He wants to bring together all the kissing champions in the United States in one great competition to ascertain who are tntitled to be known as the national kissing champions.'Kissing marath-
cns have been going on for some weeks in the United States. They began in Luna Park, when Betty Burns and Mike Calabrese swooned at the end of an effort lasting three hours and two minutes, which gained for them the “osculatory laurels.” Soon afterwards, however, Paulette Day and Lea Knight more than doubled the record at the Chicago World’s Fair, but even their six-hour-thirty-minute kiss was considered by Mr. Small to be nothing but a mere peck. The champions are going to Harlem from all parts, but the “dark horses” are expected from Salt Lake City.
