CHINESE REBELS
FLEE TO MOUNTAIN STRONGHOLD [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.} (Received January 5, 11.30 a.m.) PEKIN, January 4. Leaving behind them a trail of pillage, Luikeitang’s insurgents crossed the Pekin —Tientsen railway, and are now heading southward in the direction of the Shantung border, with the intention of taking refuge among the mountain fastnesses, which make that region a bandit paradise. Hundreds: of camels and pack animals, loaded with a miscellaneous collection of loot from the plundered villages, accompanied the marauders. A division of Government cavalry has been sent in pursuit.
