OPERA HOUSE—TO-NIGHT “The Frightened Lady,” an Edgar Wallace thriller, featuring Norman MeKinnell and Gordon Harker, will be finally screened to-night. WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY Clara Bow returns to the screen at the Opera. House at Wednesday’s matinee, evening and Thursday, where “Call Her Savage,” opens its longawaited engagement. As the heroine of Tiffany Thayer’s dramatic story, the famous red-head is said to portray a life nearly paralleling her own hectic career. It is the fight waged by a misunderstood girl to curb the conflict of desires that rage inside of her extraordinary intense heart. As the half-breed sweetheart to whom she turns when society has failed her Gilbert Roland heads the supporting cast.

On Thursday evening, playgoers have an excellent musical comedy treat in store for them in “Betty,” which was all the rage when produced in London a few years ago. Brilliant in humour, wealthy in bright musical numbers, and generous in settngs, with an excellent caste and attractive chorus the production will appeal to all, and will bp equal to any similar presentation during recent years. In addition, a number of bright ballets and novelty dances are included and the gorgeous frockings will each add to the attractiveness of the play. Neither time nor trouble has been spared in the production, and a standard of perfection has been reached that will make “Betty” long remembered’ as a gem in musical comedy. The principals have been carefully chosen and each is fitted to the part. A full orchestra, will also assist with the music. The box plan is open at Denne’s (late Bristol) where seats may be booked free of booking fee.
