Results: — Mile Senior Championship—H. Mathieson (Tainui) 1, V. Hazeldine (Taiaroa) 2, R. Morris (Tainui) 3. Time: 'smin. 10 4-5 sec. (a record). Previous record: 5 min. 15 3-5 sec. Mile Junior Championship—R. Leitch (Takitimu), 1, J. Airey (Tainui) 2, R. Watson (Takitimu) 3. Time: 5 min. 23 3-5 sec. (a record). Previous record: 5 min. 38 4-5 sec. Mile Open Handicap—A. Campbell (200 yds.) (Arawa) 1; E. Moseley (220 yds.), (Arawa) 2; W. Faulkner (180 yds.), (Takitimu) 3. Time: 4 min. 50 4-5 sec. Very close finish.
