OSWALD v. VARGA [per press association/] GISBORNE, September 29. Wrestling before a moderate attendance, Oswald defeated Varga to-night in the sixth round. A series of headlocks, followed by a body scissors and a press gave the first fall. With a flying scissors Oswald evened in the fifth round. Repeated punching by Varga resulted in his disqualification in the sixth round.

RUMBERG v. VARGA ROTORUA, October 2. In a professional "’bout on Saturday before a moderate house Rumberg defeated Varga, by two falls to one. Varga secured the first fall from a press but in the fifth after being repeatedly warned for punching, had a penalty fall given against him for rabbit punching in a melee on the mat. Rumberg clinched the argument in the sixth when he catapulted off the ropes to bowl Varga over with a flying scissors. Varga was unable to rise for a short period after, and the fall was awarded to Rumberg who appeared to have the bout under control practically the whole time.

LURICH v. PENCHEFF. The wrestling bout on Saturday evening at the Leichardt Stadium, Sydney, between Tom Lurich (2061 b and George Pencheff (19911 b was won by Lurich by two falls to one. Lurich’s first "fall was gained in the fourth round with a toehold, in which Pencheff submitted very quickly, Lurich’s other fall was gained in the sixth round with a slam.
