BIG STRIKE STARTED.

LONDON, August 13.
Seventeen thousand employees of the Welsh Amalgamated Collieries and the Welsh Anthracite Collieries will cease work to-morrow (Monday). Twenty-nine collieries will bo idle by Wednesday, August. 16, and a further fortnight’s notice will affect five thousand additional miners. The Directors offer the miners an investigation of their grievances, these involving seniority and also certain minimum wage payments,
