WEATHER FORECAST., General inference: A deep westerly depression is crossing the Dominion to-day. It is being followed by an intense anti-cyclone, the centre of which was this morning over South Australia. Forecast: Moderate to strong northerly winds, backing shortly to southerlies. Weather unsettled with further rain and on highlands snow. Some heavy falls likely. Temperatures becoming cold. Seas rough.
