TOURIST CLASS TRAVEL. To meet present conditions the New Zealand Shipping Co. Ltd., announce that their well known vessel “Ruahine” is in future to carry tourist class passengers only at surprisingly moderate rates. The change is mainly in the reduction of fares as the present accommodation remains unaltered, and new cabins being fitted
will be on a similar scale. Service will be as before and the menu will be quite up to Cabin class standard. The ship’s accommodation, which until recently was rated as first class, will for this voyage be offered at fares to London ranging from: £45 to £65 single, or £Bl to £ll7 return, plus exchange and Government tax. When the additional accommodation is added for next voyage the fares are expected to commence at £3B single and £6B return. These rates cover a range of cabins from six berth to single berth and include large single and double bedstead cabins on the boat deck. Twoberth cabins will be obtainable at various rates according to size and position and many, of them have private bathrooms attached. Public rooms consist of dining saloon, general lounge, ladies’ lounge, smoking room, card room and children’s room and there is ample deck space for the vessel’s complement of passengers. “Ruahine” is time-tabled to sail from New Zealand about October 7, and again in March, 1934. March is the popular month for tourists to leave New Zealand for the United Kingdom, and those who anticipate travelling next season will be well advised to secure reservations. OTHER PORTS.
