A violent thunderstorm which broke during the progress of the British amateur golf championship here today led to a number of remarkable incidents. At the twelfth hole a woman spectator in the hillside was emptying the water out of her shoe when a ball, driven from the tee, lodged m it. Not knowing what to do in these extraordinary circumstances, she waited until the two players came along. They mutually agreed that she should shake the ball ou,t, and the player concerned must play it where it fell. This was done to the satisfaction of both competitors, and the match proceeded. /
