Mrs Alice Diamond, the widow of gangster "Legs” Diamond, who was killed on December 8, 1931. has been found murdered in an apartment where she was living quietly, under an assumed name. She was shot, through the back of the head. Although the walls were riddled witli bullets, her neighbours declare that they heard no shots .

JAKE FACTOR ABDUCTED. (Recd. July 3, 8 a.m.) CHICAGO, July 2. Jake Factor, stock importer, wanted in England on swindling charges, was kidnapped on Saturday on leaving a cabaret with his family. Seven men, armed with machine guns and pistols abducted him. The authorities say that no demands have yet been received, although an authoritative source reports that a member of the family has received an 150,000 dollars demand.
