WEATHER FORECAST. General inference: An anti-cyclone is now located east of New Zealand, the centre being near the Chatham Islands. A shallow depression covers the Tasman Sea, and extends beyond it in the northward direction. Forecast: Light to moderate northerly winds, freshening gradually. Weather cloudy to overcast, with rain at times. Temperatures mild. Seas smooth to moderate.
