REEFTON NOTES
[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, June 10. -Miss Mary McMahon, who has been undergoing a course of treatment at Hokitika, was early in the week operated on and is making good progress. Mr. B. Hoare, an employee of Perfection Mine, was struck by a fall of coal from the roof on Thursday afternoon. The fall injured a leg, inflicting a wound which required several stitches. The injured man was brought to town and received medical attention. The annual ball of the Reefton Catholic Parishioners, was held in the Criterion Theatre last night. The function was a great success. The floor was filled almost to capacity and the I music, which was much enjoyed was provided by Steel’s orchestra of four instruments. Messrs Frazer and O’Donnell acted as M’sC. A splendid supper was provided and arrangements in this direction were in charge of a committee. Novelty dances were won by Mrs. Ford and Mr. Hinton and Miss Magee and Dr. Marshall. Extras were played by Mrs. Archer and Miss McKane. I
