REMARKABLE OPERATION
ON AUSTRALIAN’S EYE. LONDON, April 1. An Australian, whose name has not been disclosed, underwent a remarkable operation at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Mr. Thomas, a young Welsh surgeon, grafted an membrane from a man .who lost an eye in the Mitcham explosion upon the Australian’s Sl£mtless eye. The hospital explained that several months must elapse before any benefit is visible. If refuses to make a more detailed, announcement. Mr. Thomas recently grafted the cornea from a boy, whose eye was so badly injured it had to be removed, upon a baby born blind. The baby can now distinguish light and shade.
