The Kumara Sports Club’s Axemen’s and Athletic Carnival, to be held on the Kumara Recreation Ground on Thursday, April 20, promises to be one of the most successful meetings of the year. The programme of axemen s events is particularly flue, and should attract the best bushmen on the West Coast in quest of the rich prizes offered. The entries will close on Saturday, April 15, for all chopping events, but post entries will be accepted in all other events. An altei ation has been made in the age limit for the dancing events, and the competitions will now be for children under 11 years and from 11 to 14 years. The carnival will conclude in the evening with a grand ball in the Memorial Hall, for which a good supper, a full orchestra and an efficient M.C. are promised.

WOMEN’S FESTIVAL. LONDON, April 12. Plans are developing to hold an international women’s athletic festival in London, following the Empire Gaines in 1934. It is proposed to ask each country to send a minimum of twelve women.
