OPERA HOUSE—TONIGHT. “Bachelors’ Affairs,” a whirlwind of hilarity, featuring Adolphe Menjou will be screened at the Opera House to-night and Thursday. Others in the cast are Allan Dinehart, Joan March, Arthur Pierson, Herbert Mundin, Irene Purcell and Don Alvarado. BLACKBALL—TO-NIGHT. “Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde” will be screened at Blackball to-night and Thursday. OLD TIME DANCE. Schaef’s Hall on Saturday night will again be the rendezvous of all dance lovers. Two efficient M’s.C. in Messrs Petrie and Fell will have charge of the floor and continuous music by the popular Gaiety Orchestra ensures all dancers that the music is of the best. BUSINESS QUEEN’S COMMITTEE. All friends and sympathisers of the Business Queen, Miss Doris Turtill, are invited to attend a meting in the Town Hall Committee Room at 8 o’clock this evening.

AHAURA TENNIS BALL. On Friday evening the brilliantlylighted and gaily-decorated Ahaura Hall, filled almost to overflowing with throngs of happy dancers, presented a most animated appearance for the Tennis Club’s annual ball. The stage was tastefully decorated with native foliage and large bowls of cosmos. In the supper room, where a delightful supper was served, the tables were gay with autumn-tinted leaves and scarlet salvia, bonfire. A feature of the evening was the grand march, which was ably controlled by Mr Kidd. Messrs Hahn and Paul carried out the duties of M.’s C. The Gaiety Orchestra supplied splendid music, _ extras being played by Mrs Clayton’ and Mr Chadwick. A vocal solo, “Love’s Old Sweet Song,” rendered by Mr Reid, was much appreciated. The Committee, who worked so hard for the success of the evening, have every reason to feel satisfied with the function, which was a pronounced success in every respect.
