SOCCER FOOTBALL

CANTERBURY AND OTAGO DRAW. [PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.! DUNEDIN, April 10. Nearly 1000 spectators saw the trial Association football match between Canterbury-Buller-Westland and OtagoSouthland at the Caledonian Ground. The game ended in a draw, one goal each. With the advantage of the wind in the first half Canterbury made little headway against the great display of Stenhouse, Brown and Chapman, the Otago half line. The home side was leading one-nil at half-time, Groves scoring. It was only in the last 15 minutes of play that Canterbury displayed class football, when Walker equalised. On the run of play Otago had the better of the game, but both sides were weak in finishing in front of the goal. N.Z. VISIT TO AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, April 11.
