[OUB OWN COBBESPONDENT.] REEFTON, April 1. The funeral of the late Mrs Murray took place yesterday from the Church ' of the Sacred Heart, to the Suburban >■ Cemetery. Requiem Mass was c'ele- 1 ' brated at the Church of the Sacred , Heart by Rev. Father Seymour, who also read the Prayers at the graveside. The following will represent the Reefton Cricket Club in theii' match against Brunner on Sunday:—Messrs S. Hunt, P. Scott, W. Blom, H. Foreman, F. Bonifacio, J. Hannah, O. Collins, H. Kearns, J. Goodyer, J. Slattery, T. McKenzie, E. Maindonald 12th man. The annual meeting of the Reefton Women’s Institute took place on the 2Sth, there being a good attendance of members. The annual report and balance sheet was presented and showed the Institute to have a satisfactory credit balance. The following officers were elected for the year:— President, Mrs G. W. Osborne; VicePresidents, Mesdames W. Watson, J. McElwee, and J. Discaciati; Treasurer, Mrs W. S. Pratt; Secretary, Mrs W. J. Duff; Committee, Mesdames Bell, Breidstadt, W. B. Auld, Reid, Campbell, Rollerson; Home and Country Agent, Mrs Rollerson; Roll of Honour Secretary, Miss Burns; Social Committee, Mesdames McElwee, Cochrane, Discaciati, Miss Garth. The Institute hope to provide a rest room for country visitors, country branches being asked to contribute. Eight afternoon and two evening meetings were held during the year and the following demonstrations given: Lampshades, flower making, articles from gramophone records, smocking, sugar bag work, knitting, ’ milk jug covers, wool work. In the competitions held at each meeting, Miss Arnott was placed first with most points gained, with Mrs Rollerson second. The Institute has 38 financial members. Thanks are due ] to Miss Gibson for prizes and to Mrs i Breidstadt for a birthday cake, also - to the Press for publishing monthly 1 reports. Delegates attended meetings ; at Christchurch and Wellington. Fif- < teen pounds worth of goods were sold on behalf of the Jubilee Institute for 1 the Blind. A parcel of butter was ' sent to the Institute at Glamis, in < Scotland, and a return parcel of short- i bread was received, and much appre- ] ciated. The thanks of the branch are 1 due to all who demonstrated work during the year, and to the retiring ( President, Mrs W. Bell, who was ! forced by ill-health to resign. ’
