IN PIRATES’ HANDS

NO NEWS OF BRITISH OFFICERS. [BY CABLE —PBEBB ASSN. COPYBIGHT,] (Received April 1, 9.30 a.m.) PEKIN, March 31. There is no news of the four captive British officers. All possible steps are being taken by the land and river police, and the coastguard service to locate the pirates. The general belief is that the recovery of the prisoners will be less difficult than in the Pawley-Corcoran case, when plentiful vegetation furnished excellent cover for the pirates. The captives are all under 30 years of age, and are single. None of them speaks Chinese.
