The Criminal Court trial has concluded of Eric Craig, on a. charge of murdering Bessie O’Connor, 17, whose nude battered body was discovered in National Park on December 14. The jury was unable to agree, and was locked up for the night. Craig, whose defence was an alibi, was sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment for manslaughter. A cablegram from Sydney on March 16, stated that Eric Craig, 28, salesman, was convicted of manslaughter of Iris Marriott, otherwise May Miller, whose body was found in a park. Craig, whose defence was that the woman attacked him, and he retaliated, was sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment.
