INDIAN TERRORISTS
FRENCH OFFICIAL SHOT.

CALCUTTA, March 10.
The French Commissioner of Police at Chandernagore, a French Colony near Calcutta, was shot and seriously wounded by three young Bengali terrorists, while walking in the main street. Two escaped, but the third was arrest ed. The Commissioner is progressing favou rably.

(Received March 11, 10.30 a.m.) CALCUTTA, March 10
Monsieur Quin, French Commissioner of Police at Chandernagore died this morning from bullet wounds inflicted by terrorists, who attacked him after escaping to a house wheie he attempted to arrest them. Quin was unarmed, and pluckily tackled his opponents, who shot him point blank, also wounding an Indian constable and an Indian passer-by.
VILLAGERS SHOT
CALCUTTA. March 10
Two Mohammedan villagers were shot dead by a military patrol searching near Chittagong, for terrorist absconders. The scene of the shooting was a notorious area, the victims behaving suspiciously failed to halt when challenged.
