OPERA HOUSE—TO-NIGHT.

Joe Brown in “Local Boy Makes Good,” will be finally screened to night.

WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.

“The Yellow Ticket,” with Elissa Landi and Lionel Barrymore in the leading roles, will be screened at Wednesday’s matinee, evening and Thursday. WALLSEND—TO-NIGHT. “A Dangerous Affair,” will be screened at Wallsend to-night. HYDRO BALL. The whole district is buzzing with excitement anent the grand Hydro ball, and a concourse of dancers such as has never before been seen on the Coast will be present at the Town Hall to-morrow (Wednesday). The floor will be in perfect \ order, and special attention has been given to providing scintillating decorations and surprises in novelties. Steel’s Orchestra of five instruments has been engaged to provide the dance music, and as the catering is in the capable hands of Herb. Moore, everyone will approve. Spotlight and twilight dances will frequently appear during the evening, and Mr A. Petrie, as M.C., will guide proceedings in his usual able manner.

A programme of modern and oldtime dances has been decided upon to suit everybody, and an edict has been issued that all old-time dances must be carried out strictly old-time.. Now get put of yourself on this great night at least. Come along and join in the opening ‘celebrations of yotir new Hydro works. COBDEN SHOW. Tho Cobden Anglican Church will hold their Annual Daffodil Show in the School Gymnasium to-morrow after noon at. 2.30. The show’ will be open ed by tho Rt. Rev. the Bishop of Nelson. Sweets, cookery and sewing stalls, bran tub and amusements. Come along everyone and give your support, as they are urgently in need of funds.
