GAR WOOD'S TRIAL. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] (Received September 20, Noon.) NEW YORK. September 19. A message from Algonac (Michigan) states .that after warming up along a mile straightway at 126.09 miles an hour, Gar Wood postponed. until Tuesday, the attempt to set a world’s record on the St. Clair river, with Miss America X, when motor trouble developed. Wood made three, warming up dashes, one of which was clocked of ficially at the foregoing figure. He then discovered a. broken ring in one of (he gear boxes, which caused the shaft to heat.
