SCHOONER WRECKED

EIGHTEEN MEN MISSING

[BY CABLE—PBESS ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.]

(Received April 12, 11 a.m.) LONDON, April 11

The French schooner Rouzie was abandoned in the Bay of Biscay. The crew of twenty-nine put off in eight boats.

Three have since been found empty. Eleven of the crew were rescued. Four were picked up by the steamer Deerpool, and were landed at Cardiff in a state of collapse, after their boat had been tossed like a cork for fortyeight hours. The Rouzie’s captain was the last to leave the ship, and insisted on going in the smallest boat.
