Whilst bathing with his wife, at New Brighton, yesterday, Harold Percy Stevens, cabinetmaker, 42, was drowned. He leaves a family of three. THEFTS AT CHRISTCHURCH. CHRISTCHURCH, February 13. A raid on three city shops early this morning resulted in thieves stealing a mixed variety of jewellery and other goods to a total value of between £3O and £4O. The premises visited were: The jewellery shop of A. C. C. Robilliard, corner of High and Hereford Streets. The chemist’s shop of Wallace and Co., High Street, and The Wholesale Boot Company, Cashel Arcade, Cashel Street. The thieves did not enter the shops, but confined their attention to the show-cases outside.
