GRAIN AND PRODUCE. [per PBESB ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, February 12. Consequent on the continuance of dry weather, and its serious effect on tho potato crop, the market has firmed further this week. The last three weeks have given the crop in many districts a set back that even a bountous rain may not restore ,as there is always the risk of second growth at this late period. Frost on Monday night blackened some good crops, but damage from this cause is isolated. In the North and Mid-Canterbury it is fairly certain that the yield will be considerably under normal. Business has been done at £4 10s f.o.b. for April-June, and £5 5s for July-Septem-ber. To-day’s quotations are £4 15s and £5 10s, but buyers are not keen at this advance. Prompt is worth 4/6 to 4/6J f.0.b., and spread 4/6 for AprilSeptember. Cocksfoot has not been inquired for so freely. Quotations are from 6£d to '7d for Akaroa seed.
