BURGLAR BROTHERS
A JUDGE’S ESTIMATE. [pee pbesb association.] AUCKLAND, November 16. Two brothers, Bernard Charles Cole, 27, and William Noel Cole, 24, were sentenced to-day to three years' hard labour, for a series of burglaries. They were arrested under sensational circumstances in a lonely house near Swanson. Counsel said that poverty was the explanation of the offencesJustice Herdman said it was the worst case of systematic burglary for a considerable time. The sentences would begin at the expiration of the present term of twelve months which both are serving.
