THE,KING’S SPEECH FORECAST. [OFFICIAL WIRELESS.] RUGBY, November 7. ‘ .When the new Cabinet meets for the first time on Monday, after the members have received the seals of office from the King, the main business will be giving approval to the terms of the King’s Speech to be delivered at the State opening of Parliament on Tuesday. It is anticipated that the speech will be quite brief, and will emphasise the; Government’s intention 'to concentrate on the restoration of the country’s economic and financial position, and seek a settlement of international problems. GOVERNMENT WHIP. LONDON, November 7. Captain Margesson succeeds Sir B. Eyres Monsell, as Chief Government Whip. EXCHANGE RATES LONDON, November 7. The newspapers are beginning to speculate upon an early reduction in Australia’s rate of exchange. Highly placed people, however, with- ■ hold their opinion, pointing out that there are now complexities in relation to the depreciated value of sterling. It js the general opinion nevertheless, that as soon as Australia’s export season reaches its height, and balances accumulate at London there will be some relief, which is desirable. UNEMPLOYMENT DECREASING RUGBY, November 7. The figures issued to-night show that for the .week ending October 26, last, there was a further reduction of 11,786 in the number of unemployed in Britain, making a total reducx tlon of nearly 100,000 for the preceding four weeks.
