GRAIN AND PRODUCE

CHRISTCHURCH, October 2. The potato market is unchanged. There are not many potatoes in Auckland but the Wingatui which left last night with 2600 sacks will arrive at the beginning of the week. The next boat is on Tuesday, quotations are still 32/6 f.o.b. for whites and Dakotas are at 37/6. There is a belief in some quarters that the later part of the month may see a firming in values. This development will be largely dependent on whether farmers will open their pits at current prices. Fowl feed is offering at 5/2A, but buyers are scarce at thiis figure. There is no change in quotation for oats and seeds.
