OPERA HOUSE THIS EVENING “New Moon” featuring the two world’s greatest operatic ' singers, -was presented before a crowded audience at the Opera House last night. Laurel aud Hardy were also seen and heard in a very funny comedy “The Chickens come Home.” This excellent programme will be finally screened at this evening’s performance. MONDAY AND TUESDAY

Fact is better than fiction —for dialogue purposes, according to Llewellyn Hughes, who wrote the magazine story then wrote the screen adaptation, the dialogue for “The Skj r Hawk,” the all talking Movietone romance of the world of flight, which will be screened on Monday and Tuesday, with Campbell Bullan, the stage director. Hughes wrote in a scene of the cadets at a British training .aerodrome discussing an airplane crash. During the filming of the picture, which John G. Blystone directed, Hughes was present at the making of the crash sequence. The smashup was so realistic that the spectators, were certain the pilot was injured, forgot it was “only a picture” and commented enthusiastically on the performance. Their remarks were so picturesque, the writer promptly summoned a stenographer, dictated a new scene embodying these comments and substituted it for his earlier sequence. John Garrick, Helen Chandler and Gilbert Emery have the principal roles. TO-NIGHT'S RENDEZVOUS.
