MEETINGS TO COME. July 11, 15,18—Wellington R.C. July 22, 23— Manawatu R.C. July 23, 25—Gisborne R.C. July 25 —South Canterbury Hunt Club. July 30—Gisborne R.C. August I—Poverty Bay Hunt Club. August 11, 13, 16 —Canterbury J.C.,

Grand National. August 22—Pakuranga Hunt Club. August 22 —Hawke’s Bay Hunt Club. August 29—Taranaki Hunt Club. Thurina:

Is to go forward from Riccarton to Trentham, but his recent exhibitions in schooling tasks have not been encouraging.

Rose of Orange,: Regarded as a smart two-year-old, Rose of Orange will be taken to the Wellington meeting, where she will

race on the second and third days. Her .condition is reported to be first class. Semper Paratus: Will be ridden in his Trentham engagements by C. Carmont. The son of Winning Hit is looking in good order. Red Boa: Has not been racing up to her best form since the Dunedin meeting. The high scale of weights seems to stop her. Heather Lad: Was not suited by the hard going at Oamaru. He likes the sting out of the ground.

Little Doubt: After his good form at Te Kuiti, Little Doubt will be supported at the Wellington meeting. He is reported to be in good fettle.

Autopay: The Stewards’ Handicap winner may not be taken to Australia, as his trainer considers that the weight allotted to him in the Epsom Handicap (8.6 J is hardly an inducement for the horse to be sent across.

Bronze Eagle: Will not now be sent to Sydney for the Spring campaign. Bronze Eagle is working regularly at Taratnaki, and he is developing into a very fine horse. Goshawk Unlucky:

Had not his rider lost an iron at the final fence, Goshawk would almost certainly have won the Havelock Hurdles at Hawke’s Bay on Saturday. He should be remembered.

Bon Ayran is Good: Bon Ayran, winner of the Hawke’s Bay Steeples last Thursday, scored again decisively in the July Steeples on Saturday. He is worth keeping in mind for engagements at Trentham.

Advcntus in Form: Adventus has won two races recently, and is in really good form. His four successes to date have earned him £320 in stakes, so that he is still well within the hack limit.

Kahikaicoa: Finished second to Manifesto in the Final Handicap at Hawke’s Bay, after getting away badly, and with a better beginning may have troubled the winner. His performance shoud not be forgotten.

Winter Pay as Hurdler: After five starts over country for two wins and a second, Winter Day was given his first chance as a hurdler in the Havelock Hack Hurdles on Saturday, and was successful. He led practically all the way to beat Goshawk by a neck. He has thus recorded victories in his first start ovr country, and at his first start over hurdles, and has yet to run in a flat race. SIMBA SAFE.

SYDNEY, July 7. The racehorse Simba mystery was cleared up to-day, when Mr G. Guest, owner of the ex-New Zealand horses Tone and Torquil admitted his ownership of Simba. Mr Guest said that he had arranged with a stock remover, W. Colman, to clear the horse, because the consignee, Joe Smith, is a pony trainer, and Simba is intended for registered meetings. Mr Guest also stated that Simba had been gelded, and that when he has recovered, he will be put into work again for racing as a four-year-old.
