CORRESPONDENCE
BLACKBALL MINE
[to the editor.] Sir, —I quite agree with and endorse all the statements made by “Fed Up” in his recent letter over the Blackball mine. Truly, the men mostly are a lot of very meek sheep and only a ballot will settle anything important here. Share the work is only a starvation policy. Fancy the great militants coming down to such a level ! Opposition to travelling th'e rise is only an excuse for delaying a settlement. If you talk to anyone here they will tell you that the men have been made complete fools of, and that, whichever way the settlement goes the men stand to lose. It is hard to believe that the men here are too frightened to vote in accord with their convictions, but it most decidedly is the case.—l am, etc.,
MINER. Blackball, February 28.
