REEFTON, December 2
The rainfall recorded at Reefton for November, was 8.95 inches, With rain on 20 days. The maxiiridm fall was 1.27 inches oh November 14. The rainfall for November 1929 was 12.11 inches.
The Reefton Cricket Club sent a team to Waiuta on Sunday. Reefton went in first and scored 53, Hepburn 15, Wdods (not out) 9, Hannah 9, and Blom 6, being .the chief scorers. Waiuta went in to bat and when the score stood at 8, heavy rain stopped play, the game being drawn. The Waiuta B. team defeated Blackwater by eight wickets, Blackwater scoring 25 in the first innings, Waiuta replying with 27 for two wickets, when rain stopped play.. Employment at the coal mines promises to be good for this week. Orders to hand will enable the Perfection mine to work nearly the whole week. The Matchless mine is in the same position. The Morris group has lost very little time for the past fortnight. The late Mrs. Kearns, whose funeral took place on Saturday; left 13G descendants, there being 13 children, 63 grand children, 59 great-grand children, and one great-great-grand-child.
