TIMBER WORKERS’ UNION

RESULT OF ELECTIONS .... A number of results of the Westland Timber Workers’ Union elrictlriris were announced last night by the Returning Officer, Mr. R. Fitzgerald. The secretaryship of the Union was retained by Mr. F. L, Turley who gained a majority of 371 votes over Mr. S. Gladstone, the other candidate for the position. The respective figures were: —' Secretary: F. L. Turley 779; S. Gladstone 408. Mr. Turley was elected.

Committee —South Westland: L. Gillardie 368, Ferguson 359, Harwood 355. Messrs L. Gillardie and Ferguson were elected. Otira Line: J. Rooney 269, J. Wills 222, J. Faulkner 184. Messrs J. Rooney and J. Wills were elected.
